When we first contacted ATI in 1998 about developing a crank damper for our 2JZ, we never imagined that the engine would be brought to the level it is today. Our race engine at the time was producing power levels that matched most current mild road builds, and almost two decades later our race engines have tripled that number. After a long and successful run, we returned to the drawing board with ATI to exclusively develop the updated Version 2 2JZ crank damper. This updated version was designed with a higher inertia rate to compensate for today's higher revving, more powerful 2JZs as an all round upgrade to the current damper. This new and improved unit works the same on an OEM 2JZ replacing the factory demountable factory unit. Aesthetically, the damper now features a durable hard-anodized black finish with laser-engraved 360-degree timing marks and logos that make reading much easier. We have also listened to the feedback from our fans and are pleased to announce that this version 2 shock was designed to use the OEM length belt and no longer requires a custom length belt.
