He's ready for a decent push and a decent performance. Installed in either a single setup or a double setup if one is not sufficient. It is equipped with an oversized 50mm valve. We believe this to be the largest, highest flow capacity valve available for an atmospheric relief valve.
Easy connection to the intake manifold with the 50mm (2") hose connector or with the V-band available with both options.
The Nuke Performance Blow Off Valve is available with either a V-Band connection which includes both the required lightweight aluminum clamp and weldable aluminum flange. Choose the right spring for your engine setup
The Nuke Performance Blow Off Valve 50mm V-Band comes with a pre-installed setup spring. The 0.35-0.50 BAR spring is the most common and popular spring and is used by most of our customers.
To find out which spring suits your design best, measure the engine vacuum at idle and with the engine at operating temperature. It's easy to swap out the setup spring if needed, you only need a 5mm allen key.
Comes with a 6mm Pneufit quick connect fitting.
The relief valve is supplied with an oversized 1/4" Pneufit quick connector for a 6mm hard pipe. This is used to connect the relief valve to the vacuum in the intake manifold. Additional hose and nipple connections are available as accessories.
What is a relief valve for and how does it work?
A bleed valve is actually a pressure relief valve that bleeds off turbo pressure/boost pressure when the throttle is closed. While the turbo is still spinning and producing pressure, when the throttle is closed, a pressure wave is sent back to the turbocharger, causing the compressor wheel to stall the "supercharger surge" and slow it down very quickly.
A relief valve is installed between the turbocharger and the throttle valve, which is connected to the vacuum.
A well-sized blow-off valve increases the life of the turbo and is necessary for its functionality.
