OVERVIEW :
The Radium Engineering Fuel Hanger Surge Tank (FHST) is a retrofit fuel pump solution designed to maximize performance potential.

The FHST system supplies fuel to the injectors independently while the direct injection system is left undisturbed with the OEM fuel pump.

The function of the expansion tank ensures that a reserve of fuel remains sealed around the aftermarket fuel pump to prevent fuel starvation.

HOW FHST WORKS :
The OEM system consists of a fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator (FPR), fuel filter and multiple venturi jet pumps (not shown below). In the factory configuration, the OEM fuel pump supplies fuel to the engine through the fuel filter, which has an integrated FPR. This pressure-regulated fuel is also used to drive multiple venturi jet pumps. These OEM venturi jet pumps deliver fuel from opposite ends of the fuel tank to the OEM pump basket to keep it full.

The Radium FHST is installed in the left side fuel tank opening which is on the opposite side of the OEM fuel pump on the right side of the fuel tank. It does NOT break ANY aspect of the OEM fuel system and still uses all OEM fuel level sensors. Fuel is still supplied to the engine by the OEM pump, OEM filter, OEM FPR and OEM venturi pumps. The FHST features a separate pump outlet and return, making it ideal for an independent injection system or a custom fuel system.

The FHST canister is fueled from the following 3 sources:
1. The left OEM venturi jet pump now first fills the FHST canister and then the overflow vents into the OEM fuel pump basket, just like it did at the factory.

2. Return fuel from the aftermarket FPR (included in 20-0867-03 and 20-0867-05) enters the FHST canister through a diverter (see below) to prevent venting and foaming.

3. The three 1-way fill valves at the bottom of the surge tank have a flow rate of 355 LPH each (1,065 LPH total).

As shown in the picture, they let the fuel in but not out.

Below is a common wiring diagram for Lamborghini Gallardo LP and Gen1 Audi R8 (Type-42) vehicles. These include Radium Engineering 20-0865 and 20-0867-03 or 20-0867-05.

For Lamborghini Huracan and Gen2 Audi R8 (Type-4S) vehicles, consult your tuner to get the most out of this system.

ELECTRICAL :
The specially designed stainless electrical bolts easily handle the high current demands not found in compact multi-pin bulkhead connectors. These service-friendly connectors are hermetically sealed and impervious to all common and exotic fuels.

Non-conductive anodized aluminum acorn nuts are included to prevent accidental shorting. Electrical hardware is included for the fuel pump and OEM level sensors. In addition, the wiring in the tank is insulated with high-quality, chemically resistant ETFE. A set of relays, e.g. B. 17-0031, recommended.
