The Radium Engineering fuel tank mount allows the use of 1, 2 or 3 high pressure pumps and 1 lift pump in the stock Mazda FD RX7 fuel tank.

It is compatible with the following models :

The unique integrated 1.85L expansion tank completely eliminates the lack of fuel. No sanding, bending or modification of the trunk panel is required.

To simplify the routing of aftermarket AN hoses, the 10AN ORB supply connector features a low-profile 8AN male connector and the 8AN ORB return connector features a low-profile 6AN male connector. Pipe fittings are also included in the scope of delivery for connecting the OEM supply and return hoses.

The specially designed stainless electrical bolts easily handle the high current demands that compact bulkhead connectors cannot. These service-friendly fittings are properly sealed and impervious to all common and exotic fuels. Non-conductive acorn nuts are provided to prevent accidental short circuits. In addition, the high-quality wiring in the tank is insulated with chemically resistant ETFE. The electrical hardware for the fuel pump(s), OEM level sensor, and OEM temperature sensor is included.

Integrated Surge Tank :
A fuel tank (FST) is the best solution to avoid fuel starvation. Because the FD RX7 can experience high lateral Gs, it inherently suffers from fuel slosh. Luckily, Mazda made a tank with a very large bolt flange pattern (similar to the FCST) that allows for various upgrade options.

For an FST to function properly, a lift pump is required to maintain the volume in the expansion tank. This lift pump is located in the rear of the OEM subtank inside the Mazda gas tank. Included in the kit is a lift pump mount that attaches to 3 sides of the OEM subtank. It also serves as a baffle to supply fuel to the pump. Measures have been taken to ensure that the lift pump always has to deliver fuel to the expansion tank.

The 1-inch rebound ball allows fuel into this tight area during acceleration (above) and holds it back during deceleration (below).

The lift pump directs the low pressure (high volume) fuel in the FST through a special baffle in the bottom of the expansion tank. The 24-hole deflector distributes the fuel evenly in the canister, preventing air bubbles and foaming. When fuel is low, the canister drains back into the OEM subtank.

Foreline pump filters are included for proper inlet filtration.

Since all compatible fuel pumps are equipped with check valves, the high pressure pump outlets are consolidated into a single 10AN billet header.

The low pressure fuel returning from the regulator is returned to the FST and keeps it full. A second 24 hole deflector is used at this point to prevent air bubbles and foaming. All of this happens inside the OEM tank.

Choose between :
1. The installer must provide their own fuel pumps.
2. The kits come pre-assembled as shown below. The final assembly is carried out by the installer.

3. Enough components are included to run all 4 fuel pumps. Depending on the build, some parts will simply not be used.

4. For the 20-0951 Brushless Fuel Pump Hanger (shown above), the included lift pump wiring harness and hoses are compatible with Walbro DCSS 39/50 pumps (F90000267/274/285/295).

The fuel delivery kits use high-flow -8AN fuel lines.

A Radium 1/2" fuel/PCV feed hose runs from the outlet of the fuel pump mount to a Radium Engineering fuel filter which is attached to the rear subframe. From there a -8AN ready made PTFE feed line runs all the way to the engine compartment where it is up to the user to customize the 45 degree hose end to suit their specific fuel system.The fuel lines expose the OEM fuel pump cover and all suspension associated parts.No cutting or drilling is required to get the feed line past the fuel tank to get.

The included Radium Engineering fuel filter assembly attaches to the rear subframe under the vehicle with a specially designed FD RX7 bolt-on billet mount.

The filter mounts over a Radium Engineering heat exchanger to keep fuel temperatures down. Depending on the kit selected (-01, -03, -05), the fuel filter is fitted with 1 of 3 different elements.
