VF750 R8 V10
One of the highest performance modifications, emanating from VF-Engineering's research and development facility in California, is a spin-on Roots supercharger system that adds approximately 200 horsepower and 200 lbs of torque to the V10 R8. Available on 2009 and later models with manual and Rtronic/Stronic, this system uses the latest generation Eaton TVS2300 4-lobe, dual-vortex compressor coupled to an air-to-water system after cooling.
Using the latest technology and production processes, VF-Engineering has developed a system that integrates effectively with the V10 engine and delivers a proven result that has been adopted and installed in the primary and aftermarket.
With a lag-free instant torque boost of 5psi at 1500rpm, the air charge at Redline progressively increases to 6.5psi, resulting in an exhilarating increase in acceleration. The supercharger produces a predictable power output that compares the car to a V12. This is suitable for all driving styles and conditions and not just for straight line acceleration.
Designed to be a reversible and easy upgrade, this product is aimed at the everyday driver and enthusiast looking to retain the character of the V10 Audi.
The engine calibration is programmed with an electronic flash / direct flash for the ECU's OBD2 port and developed by VF / Hex Tuning, retaining Bosch safety features and using the factory engine controls to recalibrate for an improved combustion cycle. Extensive tuning of the camshaft timing mapping allows appropriate boosting of the combustion cylinders to produce an additional 120 ft/lbs of torque at 2000 rpm.
Tested by Motor Trend magazine, the supercharged V10 does 0-60 in 3.1 seconds (3.9 seconds originally) and hits the quarter-mile flag in just 11.0 seconds at 127.3 mph.
