The high-performance, all-aluminum auxiliary coolers work in tandem with the rest of the cooling system to lower temperatures throughout the system. This is vital as the auxiliary coolers not only help keep the engine water temperature lower, but are also used as a heat exchange medium in the air-to-water intercoolers for the turbocharger system to lower intake air temperatures. Overall, the larger capacity of the auxiliary coolers extends the heat protection threshold and helps to keep temperatures in the optimal range.

Many track enthusiasts have chosen to take the top-of-the-line AMG roadsters and coupes to the racetrack - where, unfortunately, they quickly find that track dirt accumulates and their OEM auxiliary radiators provide little protection from the elements offer, possibly be penetrated.
