The PHR Cam and Crank Hall Effect Sensor is designed for builders and tuners that require a more stable and/or reliable sensor for engine speed and timing. Many ECUs can use these sensors to give a cleaner and more consistent reading. This results in faster starts, fewer tigger errors, more accurate ignition timing, as well as several other benefits.

The advantages of using Hall Effect sensors over VR sensors (magnetic) are long:
Electromagnetic Interference (EMI) Resistance
Very little or no filtering required
No minimum motor speed to generate minimum trigger voltage. Important when the engine starts slowly, especially when the battery voltage is low
Triggers at the exact trigger edge and not at the trigger voltage threshold position in the VR waveform (which may vary with engine speed).
Easy synchronization of camera and crank
Precise ignition timing
No timing float
Immune to aim run
The rotational alignment to the target is not critical
High speed operation (up to 15 kHz)

UPDATE: It has also been confirmed to work on 36-2 crankshaft puller gears and 3 tooth camshaft pullers for VVT-i engines!
Using Haltech Engine Management. We do not have settings for other engine management systems, please do not ask. As soon as we get more confirmation that they work on other systems we will post them here. Confirming a good trigger from Haltech confirms that this sensor can read the 36-2 trigger wheel quite successfully. It should work fine with most other engine management systems as long as they accept a hall effect sensor. Testing was successful up to 8000 rpm. We haven't run any tests on this yet.
